Private Birding Guide

The Northern Territory is an outstanding birding destination comprising sandstone and woodland endemics in the North to some rewarding desert birding in the South.The Katherine region offers the opportunity to view over 230 species.

The tours are designed to observe as many species in the different habitats in the region in the timeframe allocated.  Mick Jerram is an experienced Bird Guide in the region (over 20 years) and is able to look for sought after target species.

Private Guiding in the Northern Territory
The Top End of the NT includes National Parks (both State and Commonwealth).  Professional guides must have appropriate permits and licenses to conduct commercial operations within these parks.  It is illegal to conduct a commercial tour in a vehicle not registered as an accepted ‘Tour Vehicle’, whether in a park or not.  These regulations are an insurance to visitors that a level of professionalism with regards to safety and insurance is assurred.

Our Private Guiding rate includes a Guide and a vehicle for a 10 hour day and 500km of travelling.  Extensions for the day (upto 2hours) are charged at $180 per hour and includes an extra 100km.  Maximum numbers in a vehicle are 4, however, a vehicle may ‘tag along’ for $660 per day.  In this case we reserve the right to waive responsibilty for damage and injury to the passengers and/or the vehicle.
